Press Release: Minddistrict Joins Prism, The New Online Therapy Referral Hub

11 August, 2015, Bath—Healthcare applications developer Mayden today announced that e-health supplier Minddistrict has become the second service provider to join Prism, the new online hub for psychological therapies.

Current demand for mental health care vastly exceeds NHS resources, and this gap is set to continue to increase. It’s estimated that by 2030 there will be around 2 million more adults in the UK suffering with mental health problems.

Online psychological therapies could help meet the considerable unmet demand for therapeutic intervention within the NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) program. Prism enables clinicians to seamlessly and securely refer appropriate patients to a range of select online therapy providers for treatment. All related progress notes and outcome data is then transmitted directly back into the patient’s NHS record. It is anticipated that Prism will greatly ease IAPT capacity issues, waiting lists and service costs, while providing patients with faster access to a wider range of treatment via established online therapy services.

Minddistrict, the market leader in eHealth applications in the Netherlands, follows Dublin-based SilverCloud Health as the latest therapy provider to join Prism.

Used in 13 countries across Europe, Minddistrict works with over 150 healthcare providers. The company supports hundreds of thousands of clients, supplying secure digital intervention and treatment components including remote therapy (secure video sessions, messaging and chat) and online treatment (CBT modules) tailored to the needs of the patient.

“Minddistrict has advanced the uptake of online therapies across the Netherlands,” explains Mayden’s Operations Director, Chris Eldridge. “They bring a wealth of experience and solid evidence for the efficacy of online therapies to the table. We’re thrilled to have them on board.”

In 2014 Mayden won backing from the government’s Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) to develop Prism. The hub is built on iaptus, the patient management system from Mayden which is used by 70% of IAPT services.
